Does Beni AI remember previous conversations?
Yes. Beni AI can use stored conversation history and long-term memory in later conversations. That does not mean it remembers every detail or recalls it perfectly.
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Conversation history | Stored messages that can be loaded again |
| Long-term memory | Selected facts and topics used as context in later chats |
| Recall | The AI’s use of that context, which can be imperfect |
| Data controls | Persona deletion is destructive; consult the privacy policy for data requests |
What is the difference between history and memory?
Conversation history is the record of messages exchanged with a companion. In the web implementation, Beni stores messages in a user-associated conversation record and loads previous messages when the chat opens. Closing the page is therefore not the same as deleting the conversation.
Long-term memory serves a different purpose. Studio can retrieve selected facts and recent open topics for a particular user and persona, then provide that context to a later conversation. It is selective context, not a promise that the entire transcript is replayed into every response.
Why might Beni miss something you already said?
Stored information and accurate recall are not the same thing. The memory system selects context, and an AI response can overlook, misinterpret or incorrectly connect a detail. A companion sounding confident does not prove that its recollection is right.
If a detail matters, restate it clearly and correct mistakes in the conversation. Do not rely on companion memory as your only record of a deadline, medication instruction, financial commitment or other important information.
What should you know before deleting a persona?
Deleting a persona is a destructive account action, not a way to temporarily pause memory. Studio asks you to confirm before proceeding. Ending a call or closing a browser tab is different from using a deletion control. For a request about your stored data, follow the contact and request process in Beni’s privacy policy.
Controls and plan entitlements can differ across Beni’s web, Studio and iPhone surfaces. This answer does not promise an individual memory editor, identical recall everywhere, a particular retention period or deletion of every stored record through a single persona action. Check the current account controls and privacy policy for the surface you use.
Frequently asked questions
Does Beni remember everything forever?
No such guarantee is made here. Persistent storage does not establish complete recall or unlimited retention.
Does ending a call erase my conversation?
Ending a call is not a deletion action. Beni’s web implementation stores conversation messages and can load them again.
Can I edit or switch off each individual memory?
This answer does not establish a per-memory editor or toggle. Check the controls available in your current Beni account rather than assuming that feature exists.
