Can you video call an AI?

What appears on the other side of the call?
The AI side of a Beni call is a rendered character. On the web, the call surface uses an animated avatar and also supports voice and text. This is different from receiving a live camera feed from a real person.
The web app includes a fallback for browsers that cannot render the character: it shows a portrait and keeps voice and text available. A still image in that situation does not mean the conversation has become a recording.
How do you choose between voice and text?
Open the Beni web app from the official website, sign in and follow the call interface. You can type when you would rather not speak. The web interface includes controls for the microphone, your camera and AI audio, although their position and behavior depend on the screen size and platform.
The iPhone app also lists text, voice and video calling. Browser and iPhone controls are not identical, so follow the controls shown on your device rather than expecting the same microphone interaction everywhere.
Is an AI call the same as FaceTime?
